SPROUTING RED QUINOA!
Well this is an exciting day for a girl who lives in an apartment with a cat who has an affection for plant chomping! I can still grow things! I took my first stab at sprouting red quinoa and it was a huge success. The process is so simple I thought I would share!
1. Put 2/3 cup Quinoa into a mason jar
2. Add 2 cups water and let soak for 12 hours (I like to put it in a dark-ish place)
3. Rinse the quinoa and put cheese cloth over the lid, locked down with the screw top ring (So the cheese cloth would replace the lid giving the sprouts some breathing room)
4. Then twice a day for 36 - 48 hours rinse and drain the quinoa till you have some lovely sprouts ready to eat!
*Just a note, be sure to fully drain to water to avoid mold
Stay tuned for a yummy sprouted red quinoa salad recipe!
